St. Charles Parish government will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of parish infrastructure and services, including pumping stations and the new emergency operations center, during its fall 2015 Info Tour.
Tours will be held Nov. 12 on the West Bank and Nov. 13 on the East Bank, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. Meet-up for both tours will be at the new St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Center, 15026 River Road, Hahnville. Transportation and lunch will be provided.
The tour includes a walk-through of the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter and the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center.
“I want to personally encourage all St. Charles Parish residents to take the Info Tour,” Parish President V.J. St. Pierre Jr. said. “It offers a complete look at what it takes to keep the parish up and running in a way that many residents don’t notice as they go about their daily activities.”
Patrons will also have the chance to meet department heads and parish employees who will answer questions about infrastructure and plans.
The West Bank tour will also feature the Luling wastewater oxidation pond, the Cousins pumping station and the Luling waterworks facility. In addition, the East Bank tour will feature the Destrehan wastewater treatment plant, the Cross Bayou pumping station and the New Sarpy waterworks plant.
