A Jefferson man was arrested Wednesday on an allegation that he beat a woman into serving as a prostitute for him and held her against her will as he placed ads for her on the website

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies said in a booking report that they arrested Julius Murray, 34, at the Sleep Inn in Metairie “after a prostitute case was made on the victim” at the Super 8 Hotel.

After they made their case on that woman, deputies said, she alleged that Murray forced her to prostitute herself and kept “100 percent of the proceeds.”

Murray “verbally threatened her, and physically harms her if she does not continue to prostitute for him, if she falls asleep and doesn’t answer phone calls from ‘johns’,” deputies wrote.

Murray placed ads for the woman on, the woman told deputies according to the arrest report, and transported her from state to state for purposes of prostitution.

Two days before Murray’s arrest, deputies allege, Murray beat the woman by striking her in the face with his closed fists, pressing a black semi-automatic handgun against her left ear, and saying “where’s my money at b---h, why you playing me?”

Deputies said they took photographs of bruising on the victim’s face.

Murray remained at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna Friday on counts of second degree battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
