A New Orleans single mom got more than she was expecting out of her bake sale when pranksters from Prank It Forward and the TODAY show surprised her, according to an article on the TODAY show.
Monica Simms, the mother of three children including one who suffers from epilepsy and another who has Asperger's syndrome, is an aspiring pastry chef who takes culinary classes at night and dreams of owning her own food truck.
While participating in a bake sale at her church to help pay for her childs school supplies, Simms was surprised when someone purchased her entire table of sweets. This was followed by a flash mob dancing into the room, and topped off with the senior marching band from McDonogh marching in.
The TODAY show treated her to a trip to New York, where pastry chef Buddy Valastro gave a hands-on demonstration and baking supplies to Simms.
