A teenager and a man were shot Wednesday night in the 6th Ward, according to New Orleans police.

Officers were called at about 6:40 p.m. to St. Philip and North Dorgenois streets, where they found the victims. One was 16, said Garry Flot, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman.

Flot said police did not know the age of the other victim.

He said the 16-year-old was transported to a hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The other man was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the back.

Two bicycles appeared to have been discarded in the middle of the street. Flot could not say whether the victims had been shot while riding them.
