New Orleans police reported three armed robberies and a carjacking between Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The first incident happened just after 8:30 a.m. when a 24-year-old woman was walking to her car in Gentilly, the New Orleans Police Department said in a preliminary offense log.
Two men approached her in the 3100 block of Elysian Fields Avenue, according to the report, demanded her cell phone and wallet and then fled.
Another armed robbery was reported shortly after midnight on the corner of Washington Avenue and S. Dorgenois Street.
In that incident, the 19-year-old victim said three men called out to him and began to run. While running, two other men approached, and they all pointed guns at him, according to police.
The NOPD said one of the men went in the victim’s pocket and took $200 before they all fled.
About half an hour later, police reported a carjacking at the corner of Elysian Fields and Florida Avenue.
A man was at a stop sign when two other men approached him. One of the men, armed with a gun, demanded he get out of the car, and the two fled in a 2006 four-door white Ford Explorer when he complied.
Police categorized the last incident as an armed robbery, but according to the report, the 35-year-old victim had her car stolen, along with other property.
The woman had just gotten out of her car in the 2100 block of N. Johnson Street about 5 a.m. Sunday, according to police, and was about to enter her house when to men approached her and demanded her property.
One of the men was armed with a gun, according to the report. She complied, giving them her keys, and they fled in her gray 2004 Toyota Highlander with Illinois license plate number 6924479.
