The U.S. Commercial Service in New Orleans has added a foreign commercial service officer to its staff to further support export assistance efforts in Louisiana.

Brittany Banta, a native of Satellite Beach, Florida, will counsel small and medium-sized companies on their export needs at the New Orleans U.S. Export Assistance Center.

“Louisiana exporters continue to ramp up their sales by selling to markets around the world with quality, made-in-the-USA products,” said Donald van de Werken, director of the U.S. Commercial Service in New Orleans. “In Louisiana, some 4,000 companies exported in 2012, and export shipments totaled $63.3 billion in 2013.”

Housed within the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Foreign Commercial Service has more than 100 offices in the United States and 75 throughout the world.
