PRAIRIEVILLE — Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for a Baton Rouge handyman on allegations he stole $25,000 in tools and other items from a former employer’s storage unit.
Ryan Lance Redinger, 50, had the access code to his employer’s rented storage unit inside a multi-unit complex on Airline Highway in Prairieville, sheriff’s Maj. Kevin Hanna said in a news release Tuesday.
Sheriff’s detectives found no forced entry into the unit but found it had been opened with the access code 13 times without the employer’s permission while Redinger was working for the employer.
Detectives found Redinger sold some of the victim’s stolen items to pawn shops in Baton Rouge, Hanna said.
Detectives started the investigation in mid-November after a compliant was filed and, by late December, had received warrants against Redinger on 13 counts of simple burglary and theft, Hanna said.
Redinger, 9064 Mammoth Ave., Baton Rouge, was last seen driving a red 2001 Ford single-cab pickup with Louisiana license plate Y079965, Hanna said.
He added detectives have received information that Redinger may have left his Baton Rouge address and that the truck he was driving may be a Ford Ranger.
