Search on for Donaldsonville man who failed to register as sex offender, deputies say _lowres

Dave Alexander

Ascension Parish sheriff’s deputies are looking for a Donaldsonville man convicted of forcible rape nearly two decades ago who is now accused of failing to register as a sex offender.

Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said in a statement Friday that Dave Alexander, 51, 205 Bourg St., Lot 2, was last seen by family members and his most recent employer on Aug. 30.

Alexander is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds and is a tier III sex offender, Bacala said.

The category is reserved for the most serious sex offenses and means that Alexander must register for life, the Louisiana State Police website says.

Alexander was convicted in May 2010 for failing to register as a sex offender but was released from prison in November 2010, the state sex offender website says.

Alexander was convicted in April 1997 of the forcible rape charge and served a little more than three years in prison before being released in June 2000, the sex offender website says.

Anyone with information on Alexander’s whereabouts should (225) 621-INFO or text 847411 to the sheriff’s anonymous tip line or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP.
