‘Five to Survive’ starts

The Donaldsonville Area Chamber of Commerce has started a disaster relief fund to help victims of natural disasters, according to a news release from the chamber.

The project, called “Five to Survive,” encourages residents, businesses, church congregations and others to give donations of $5 or more, said project organizer Allison Hudson.

“Every little bit helps, especially when no man can determine the time or place when a natural disaster will occur or whom it may affect,” Hudson said. “Our vision is to do all good we can, in all ways we can, and go to all the places we are needed when called.”

To become involved, or to donate, call the chamber office at (225) 473-4814; Hudson at (504) 610-3292; or Susan Jumonville, (225) 776-4131.
