Joan Arc Golden Oaks hand drill.jpg

Students in fifth grade at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace recently learned that everyday items from two or three generations ago can be quite unfamiliar to the children of today. They visited a meeting of the parish's Golden Oaks group, where seniors displayed items used when they were children and teenagers and explained how they were used. Here Lauren Laiche, Lexi Conzonere, Jenna Chauvin, Julia Laiche and Faith Williams, from left, watch Wayne Kimball demonstrate the use of his father's hand drill.
