A 17-year old Kenner man was arrested Wednesday after police were called to the scene of a home invasion in progress, according to a news release.
Kemmion Cage, of 2708 Albany St., was booked on aggravated burglary and illegal carrying of a firearm during a crime of violence counts. He remains in the Jefferson Parish jail.
Kenner Police officers were summoned to the home by the homeowner, who reported that someone had broken into the rear of his Continental Drive residence. As officers were responding, the news release said, the caller told them the person was still inside the house.
When they arrived, they saw Cage leave the house through a smashed rear sliding door. When Cage saw officers, he jumped a fence and tossed away a loaded .40 caliber handgun, the news release said.
