The St. Tammany Parish tax rolls will be open for public inspection Monday through Aug. 31, Parish Assessor Louis Fitzmorris said in a news release.

Although this is not a reassessment year, Fitzmorris said it is important for property owners to check their assessed value and verify their property’s physical address, mailing address, special assessments and exemptions.

“Once tax bills are received in November, it is often too late to make any changes,” he said. “Therefore, property owners are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity now.”

The rolls can be viewed by visiting the Assessor’s Office website,, or by calling or visiting one of its two office locations: the Justice Center, 701 N. Columbia St., Covington; or the Towers Building, 520 Old Spanish Trail, Slidell.

Property owners who disagree with their assessment can file an application for assessment review during the public inspection period. All forms must be received by Aug. 31. Forms are available online and at both locations.

If a property owner disagrees with the outcome of the review, they can file an appeal to the St. Tammany Parish Council by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 14. Forms for such appeals are available on the parish website,
