Building renovations are driving St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister out of her office for the rest of the year.

The parish government headquarters in Building A on Koop Drive in Mandeville is being reconfigured to provide more space for the Parish Council, Brister said.

Even though Brister’s office is not being renovated, the work is causing her to temporarily decamp to the Towers Building on Old Spanish Trail in Slidell.

She and her staff will move Tuesday and expect to work out of the Slidell office for at least the rest of the year, she said.

Other departments also are dispersing across the parish due to the work, Brister spokesman Ronnie Simpson said.

Chief Administrative Officer Gina Campo and Director of Economic Development Don Shea are moving next door to Building B on Koop Drive. The Public Information and Intergovernmental Relations Office is moving to Covington, as is the Technology Department, Simpson said.

The renovations will provide more space for council members to work or hold small meetings, he said.

Simpson could not give a price tag on the renovations.
