Anyone looking to help those affected by the floods in St. Tammany or Tangipahoa parishes can do so by donating to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana.
Donations are being accepted on the United Way of Southeast Louisiana website.
“Mother nature has hit our area with a one-two punch,” said United Way SELA President and CEO Michael Williamson. “Just weeks ago deadly tornadoes roared through and now we are fighting flooding.”
To donate by check, please make it payable to United Way of Southeast Louisiana and write Flood Relief in the memo line and mail it to:
United Way of Southeast Louisiana, ATTN: Flood Relief, 2515 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119.
The website of the American Red Cross also provides information for potential donors as well as those who need assistance after the floods.
The group Concerned Citizens of St. Tammany is also collecting donations, which are available to anyone who needs them at 4700 La. 22.
Residents who need help should dial 2-1-1 to get VIA LINK, a partner agency of the United Way that provides information and referrals.
