Former Destrehan High School teacher Kimberly Naquin admitted in St. Charles Parish court on Tuesday that she had sex with a student.
Naquin, 27, was sentenced to two years of inactive probation after pleading guilty to one count of prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student, St. Charles Parish District Attorney Joel Chaisson's office said.
Authorities had previously charged Naquin with having sex with a female student in a school classroom.
The daughter of a St. Charles School Board member, Naquin entered a relatively similar plea deal last month in Jefferson Parish, resolving charges that she also had sex numerous times with the student at an apartment in Kenner.
The relationship began in October 2014, when the student was 16, and ended when one of the girl's relatives called authorities in January 2016.
Naquin, who taught history, was arrested and ultimately charged by prosecutors in two jurisdictions after the girl accurately described scarring on the teacher's thigh and the layout of her apartment.
Her plea deal in St. Charles requires Naquin to pay a fine of $500 and comply with the terms of her active probation in Jefferson Parish, where she pleaded guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile as well as prohibited sexual contact. Her probation in Jefferson is for five years, and she will be forced to registered as a sex offender for 15 years.
Chaisson said his office struck the plea deal with Naquin that was finalized Tuesday after seeking input from the victim's family.
Naquin hasn't taught since her arrest. The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is expected to permanently revoke her teaching certificate later this month, having suspended it following her guilty plea in Jefferson in March.

Court records indicate Naquin requested and was granted permission to travel to Texas recently so she could take courses to become a beautician.
Her case is unrelated to those of former Destrehan High teachers Rachel Respess and Shelley Dufresne, who were also accused of having sex with a student, in that case a 16-year-old boy.
Dufresne faces charges on two counts of carnal knowledge with a juvenile, while Respess faces two counts of failure to report a crime.
