Saxophone theft

A man wearing a brown two-piece suit, red shirt, multicolored tie and black baseball hat swiped a customer's saxophone last week at the Family Dollar store on South Claiborne Avenue in New Orleans.

According to New Orleans police, the victim walked into the store Jan. 28 just before 7 p.m. in the 2100 block of South Claiborne and placed his Antigua Winds saxophone -- estimated to be worth about $2,700 -- inside a grey and black Jinchaun bag near an umbrella stand by the cash register.

Between the time the victim approached the register and finished paying for his items, he saw his bag was gone, police said.

Video surveillance shows the robber picking up the bag containing the saxophone as he walked out the door.
