A 25-year-old woman who worked at a French Quarter restaurant was found shot to death in her car early Thursday at a New Orleans East apartment complex, according to authorities and her family.

Officers responded to a 1:10 a.m. call of shots fired at the Willowbrook Apartments in the 7000 block of Bundy Road and discovered the body of Sidni Dalcour, 25, in the driver’s seat of a red 2003 Infiniti G35. The car was parked between two buildings with the engine still running, police said.

Dalcour had multiple gunshot wounds, the New Orleans Police Department said in a news release.

Police didn't release information on any suspects or a potential motive in Dalcour's slaying, which was at least the 76th in New Orleans this year.

Dalcour's mother, Denise, said her daughter was killed in her car, which was parked at an apartment complex where her cousin lives. She attended high school in the Dallas area and was making ends meet by working at Pier 424 Seafood Market on Bourbon Street.

"It's so senseless," Denise Dalcour said. "She was beautiful and sweet."

Dalcour's mother said she didn't have much information yet on her daughter's slaying. But Denise Dalcour said she was profoundly saddened that her daughter spent many of the final days of her life dealing with a contentious separation from her husband, who couldn't be reached for comment Thursday.

Sidni Dalcour was at least the fifth person slain since Monday. Her survivors include her parents as well as four siblings, including a twin brother, Denise Dalcour said.

Police asked anyone with information in Sidni Dalcour's killing to call the NOPD Homicide Division at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
