Loyola University in New Orleans has announced restructuring plans that include the restoration of the university's College of Arts and Sciences and the creation of a new College of Graduate and Professional Studies.

The move comes as the university deals with declining enrollment and budget deficits in recent years.

In its announcement Wednesday, the university said that the new College of Arts and Sciences will include existing departments from the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences, with the additions of Sociology, Criminal Justice, Political Science and the School of Mass Communication.

The new College of Graduate and Professional Studies will include the School of Nursing, Department of Counseling and Loyola Institute for Ministry.
