The Harahan City Council was a mix of newcomers and veteran after Tuesday night’s election.
Sitting council members Tim Baudier and Dana Huete reclaimed their seats, while Susan Benton, Craig Johnston and Carrie Wheeler were elected for the first time.
Baudier and Benton each received 11 percent of the vote. Baudier received 1,887 ballots, while 1,832 cast their vote for Benton.
Huete and Wheeler received 12 percent of the vote, with Huete getting 2,028 ballots and Wheeler getting 2,100.
Johnston got 13 percent of the vote, or 2,141 ballots.
Also running were Alan “A.J.” Boudreaux, Michael Maxwell, “Pat” McDaniel, current Mayor Vinny Mosca and Bryan “Keko” Whittle.
Boudreaux received 8 percent of the vote (1,269 votes), Maxwell 7 percent (1,131 votes), McDaniel 9 percent (1,460 votes), Mosca 9 percent (1,580 votes) and Whittle 9 percent (1,611 votes).
