NATCHITOCHES — Wednesday’s baseball game between Northwestern State and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette was suspended because of rainy weather.

The game will pick up in the Cajuns’ half of the fourth inning, on April 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Brown-Stroud Field.

ULL was up 3-0 when lightning strikes were detected in the area and forced the field to be cleared. Both coaches agreed at 9:36 p.m. to suspend the game.

A two-run home run from Dex Kjerstad and a solo blast from Tyler Girouard gave ULL (22-10) the lead.

Dillion Crain (0-0) started for the Demons (10-23) allowing three runs on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts in three innings.
