The New Orleans VooDoo commited five turnovers in dropping their seventh straight game — a 65-54 loss to the Spokane Shock at Veterans Memorial Arena in Arena Football League action Friday.

The Shock (6-3) started the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown pass, which the VooDoo answered as quarterback Kurt Rocco, who returned from a knee injury, connected on a 34-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Morgan making the score 7-7.

Spokane got a 45-yard touchdown pass, but the VooDoo (1-7) scored on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Rocco to Courtney Smith and a 39-yard strike to Donovan Morgan to wrap up the first quarter with a 21-14 lead.

Rocco and Morgan connected on a 9-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, but, the Shock led 27-31 at halftime.

Rocco threw an interception to start the second half, leading to a Shock 14-yard touchdown.

Rocco responded with a 47-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Morgan, and VooDoo receiver Derek Lee returned a fumbled Shock snap for a touchdown. VooDoo fullback Jeramie Richardson closed out the third quarter with a 9-yard touchdown pass from Kurt Rocco putting the VooDoo on top 47-45.

Rocco, who finished the game 22 of 38 for 318 yards and seven touchdowns, connected with Morgan in the fourth quarter on a 33-yard touchdown pass.

Morgan finished the game with 13 receptions for 255 yards.

New Orleans returns to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to face the Chicago Rush on Saturday.
