GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Delgado baseball team lost 14-8 to Harford College on Monday, ending the Dolphins’ run in the NJCAA Junior College World Series.
Trevin Stein took the loss for Delgado; he allowed four runs in one-third of an inning of relief. Owen Magee was 4-for-4 with a double and a home run to go with four RBIs. Daniel Lahare added a homer, and Robert Podorsky was 2-for-4 with three runs.
“We got into a slugfest with these guys, and they won,” Delgado coach Joe Scheuermann said. “Hats off to those guys.”
Delgado finished 37-16 after going 1-2 in the World Series. Sunday’s win over Darton State was Scheuermann’s 900th victory at Delgado and the school’s first in the World Series.
