Pelicans swingman Tyreke Evans was cleared to play just minutes before tipoff against the Orlando Magic on Sunday at the New Orleans Arena.
Evans has been battling a flu-like illness and missed Friday night’s victory at Detroit. Less than two hours before Sunday’s game, coach Monty Williams said he didn’t know whether Evans would play.
Guard Anthony Morrow missed two games — Monday at Memphis and Tuesday at home against Sacramento — with what he described as a stomach virus that lasted 24 to 48 hours. He also was held out of the Jan. 18 game against Golden State.
Morrow returned Friday at Detroit and scored a season-high 21 points.
