LAFAYETTE — Ryan Desormeaux of Broussard successfully defended his title in the USSSA Junior Golf Tour’s Hub City Classic 3 held recently at Wetlands Golf Course.

Competing in the boys 15-18 division, Desormeaux and Micah Goulas of New Iberia tied at 146 to force a playoff, which Desormeaux won on the third playoff hole.

Skye Meija of Lafayette (149) finished third.

In the 11-14 boys division, Charlie Flynn of Alexandria won his first USSSA title in his tour debut firing a 151.

Zac Ciesla of Lake Charles finished a shot back of Flynn, while Kristian Fontenot of Opelousas (161) was third.

Matthew Weber of Scott scored a 79 to take the title in the 18-hole boys 9-11-year-old division. Chance Queen of Alexandria (88) was the runner-up, followed by Roberto Espinosa of Arnaudville (96).

In the girls division, Lauren Aillet, a senior at St. Thomas More in Lafayette, won her eighth consecutive USSSA tournament with a 157 in the 36-hole event.

Emily Pellerin of New Iberia (174) was second, followed by Alexis Breaux of New Iberia (203).
