PINEVILLE — Junior Jamie Bunting rallied Louisiana College from an 11-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter to a 32-24 triple-overtime victory over Belhaven late Saturday night at Wildcats Stadium in his first start.

Bunting’s 25-yard down touchdown to Justin Usey provided the winning points, with the Wildcats converting the two-point conversion and the defense stopping the Blazers on their ensuing possession.

Bunting went 21 of 36 for 235 yards and two touchdowns despite three interceptions along with mishandled snaps and handoffs that resulted in fumbles. He was 13-for-18 for 175 yards in the fourth quarter and three overtime periods.

Ricky Wadlington returned Bunting’s second interception for a 32-yard touchdown and a 24-13 lead with 7:21 left in the fourth quarter.

But Bunting led a three-play drive, capped with a 28-yard touchdown pass to D’Mario Parker, to get LC within 24-21 with 6:42 remaining in the game. And freshman Robert Olivares kicked a 38-yard field goal to tie the game at 24-24 in the final half-minute of regulation play.

Parker finished with eight catches for 125 yards and the one touchdown. Plus, Louisiana College sophomore Ryan Montague rushed 19 times for 105 yards.
