Caddo Parish schools get reprieve, will not receive playoff bans _lowres


LAKE CHARLES — The No. 3 Anacoco basketball team used a fourth-quarter comeback to eliminate No. 2 Fairview with a 65-55 victory in the second Class B semifinal Wednesday at the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Boys Top 28 tournament in the Burton Coliseum.

The Indians trailed by nine points going into the fourth quarter of the contest, but they used a 14-4 run to take a 55-54 lead with 2:48 remaining in the contest and never looked back. Anacoco out-scored the Panthers 25-6 in the final period.

Anacoco junior Will Reese provided the spark the Indians the Indians needed with 13 points in the fourth quarter to finish the game with 26 points. Fairview junior Brennan led the Panthers with 25 points.

The Indians will return to the Burton Coliseum to take on No. 4 Midland in the Class B state championship game Friday at 6 p.m.
