Destrehan defensive tackle Glen Logan is the top ranked Louisiana player in the new Rivals 100 football rankings for the Class of 2016.
The 6-foot-4, 290 pound Logan is ranked the nation’s No. 67 prospect according to the rankings.
“It’s an honor,” Logan said. “I worked really hard and that just makes me want to work even harder.”
He is one of six Louisiana players in the rankings, and one of three from the New Orleans area.
The other two local players in the rankings are Rummel defensive back Kristian Fulton, who is ranked No. 95, and John Ehret linebacker Michael Divinity, ranked No. 100.
The other three Louisiana players ranked are St. Thomas Aquinas defensive tackle Edwin Alexander (No. 70), Kentwood athlete Shyheim Carter (76), and Patterson wide receiver Mykel Jones (81).
Logan and Alexander are the only two of the ranked Louisiana players who have already committed.
Both are committed to LSU.
LSU has six commitments from players to make the list.
In addition to Logan and Alexander, other LSU commits are: IMG Academy (Fla.) defensive back Saivon Smith (30); Northshore (Texas) defensive back Eric Monroe (38); Wakulia (Fla.) quarterback Feleipe Franks (39); and Manor (Texas) linebacker Erick Fowler (74).
There is also a Louisiana connection at the top of the rankings.
Former Calvary Baptist quarterback Shea Patterson, who transferred to IMG Academy this summer for his senior season, is ranked the No. 1 player in the nation by Rivals.
Patterson is committed to Ole Miss.
