Black rushed 22 times for 221 yards and two touchdowns in Wolverines’ 26-21 victory over Springfield. The 5-foot-8, 170-pounder also caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown and had an interception when lined up at cornerback.

Black has rushed 72 times for 623 yards this season and scored nine touchdowns for Northlake Christian, ranked No. 5 in The New Orleans Advocate’s Small School Super 10 and No. 8 in the LSWA Class 2A polls.

“Miguel runs like the wind,” Northlake Christian coach Tony Agresta said. “He is a true 4.5 kid and he has great vision. He is a complete package.”

He has drawn interest from Davidson College and Mississippi College.

“If he keeps putting up these type of numbers, I think that list is going to grow,” Agresta said.

Northlake Christian (4-0) hosts Capitol on Friday.
