The New Orleans Pelicans will open the regular season at the Memphis Grizzlies on Oct. 18, a source told The Advocate on Monday afternoon.
The NBA will announce the league's entire schedule at 5 p.m. Monday.
The league announced last week that the Pelicans will play at home against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 20 in a game that will be televised nationally. That will be the Pelicans' home opener.
The Pelicans went 2-2 against Memphis last season, with the Grizzlies getting their two wins in overtime.
The Pelicans will face one of their former players in the game: Tyreke Evans, who played with the Pelicans for three-plus seasons before being traded to the Sacramento Kings in the DeMarcus Cousins trade in February, signed a one-year deal with the Grizzlies in July.
The Pelicans also play the Grizzlies on Oct. 13 in Memphis in the last of their four preseason games.
