The New Orleans Saints’ list of offseason priorities might have shifted.
According to a report by the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens have agreed in principle to sign tight end Ben Watson when free agency opens Wednesday afternoon.
If this deal is consummated, it would be a blow to the Saints, who also parted ways with veteran wide receiver Marques Colston earlier this offseason.
The Saints currently only have a collection of unproven players and Michael Hoomanawanui under contract at tight end.
Watson improved his stock last season by catching 74 passes for 825 yards with six touchdowns last season, stepping up to fill the void in the offense follow the trade of Jimmy Graham to the Seattle Seahawks last offseason.
