Saints quarterback Drew Brees takes a swing during the home run derby at the Celebrity Black & Gold Softball Game at Tulane's Turchin Park in May.

Drew Brees may have lost his charity softball home run title to Justin Drescher this season.

But his skills on the diamond are still in high demand.

Brees will play in Major League Baseball’s All Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday night, performing in a game that will be televised on ESPN Monday night after the Home Run Derby ends.

Brees, who has talked at length about his love of softball in the past, will be in a game that features baseball legends like Ozzie Smith and Rickey Henderson, actors like Jamie Foxx and J.K. Simmons and fellow athletes like softball legend Jennie Finch and soccer star Landon Donovan.

“I hit every ball hard, I just hit every ball on top of it,” Brees said after coming up short in the Celebrity Black & Gold Softball Game at the end of May. “Obviously, I probably should’ve gotten in the cage a little bit before I got out here, but I feel like I should just be able to pick the bat up and hit it whenever I want, wherever I want on the field.”
