Welcome to FedEx Field for today’s game between Saints and Redskins _lowres

LANDOVER, Md. — The Saints will try to get back to .500 again today against the Washington Redskins.

The team will once again have to find a way to overcome the loss of weakside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, which could be an issue coming up against tight end Jordan Reed.

It will be interesting to see if the New Orleans opts to play more nickel this week week and use a defensive back to man up on Reed. The other option is to use more zone looks and linebackers to pair up with him, which did not work well last week against Tennessee’s Delanie Walker.

The other thing we’ll be keeping an eye on is how C.J. Spiller is used. The Saints prefer to use Mark Ingram in pass protection, and the Titans’ penchant for blitzing kept Spiller on the sidelines for most of the afternoon.

Washington doesn’t like to blitz so Spiller could see more snaps.

WEATHER: It is currently 59 degrees and sunny. The forecast says things should remain like this throughout the afternoon. Not bad weather for a mid-November game.

OFFICIAL BUSINESS: John Parry’s crew will be overseeing the game.
