Rookie linebacker Hau’oli Kikaha, rookie cornerback Damian Swann and veteran linebacker Ramon Humber were not present at the portion of Wednesday’s practice open to the media.
Kikaha, who injured an ankle late in the second half against the Giants on Sunday, is facing an injury that was not initially expected to be serious, a source told The Advocate.
Swann, on the other hand, is in the concussion protocol for the second time in less than a month. The severity of Humber’s injury — the linebacker left early with a hamstring — is unknown.
New Orleans typically doesn’t push its players in Wednesday’s practice if they need time to recover.
Left tackle Terron Armstead, right guard Jahri Evans, linebackerDannell Ellerbe, wide receiver Willie Snead and wide receiverMarques Colston did not participate in the portion of practice open to the media.
Rookie tackle Andrus Peat, cornerback Keenan Lewis and linebacker David Hawthorne all participated in the portion of practice open to the media.
