New Orleans Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson is back to business as usual for his teams, according to an article by The New York Times.

“It seems like it’s been one thing after another,” Mr. Benson said in his office at the Saints’ training quarters, referring to the string of eventful off-seasons. “It’s too bad when your daughter sues you. It’s not a good feeling. But that’s life. You have to just put up with it.”

Benson will soon break ground on a $20 million community sports center next to the training base used by the Saints and the Pelicans, a team he bought in 2012. He is exploring whether to build a luxury hotel and retail complex next to the Superdome.

A federal suit involving Benson and San Antonio lawyer Bobby Rosenthal is tentatively scheduled to go to trial next summer. It is separate from an Orleans Parish Civil District Court lawsuit that Renee Benson and her children filed in February seeking to have their family patriarch declared mentally incompetent to make decisions such as excluding them from any role in his businesses.
