Ravens at Saints: predictions _lowres

Associated Press photo by BILL HABER -- Saints coach Sean Payton talks to players on the sideline in the first half of a preseason game against the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 15.

RAMON ANTONIO VARGAS: It can’t be stated enough how this game is all about last-minute internal evaluations before the Saints cut their roster Saturday to 53 players from 75 — as well as trying to emerge from it without any major injuries. So, given that winning is not even a secondary focus and the Saints (3-0) have never finished a preseason undefeated, expect New Orleans to drop this one. Ravens 17, Saints 14

NICK UNDERHILL: I’ve given the past three preseason games to the Saints. Let’s keep it going and give the Saints a fourth victory. But again, like the previous three games, the result doesn’t matter. This one won’t carry much excitement for casual fans since the starters likely won’t log much time, but this game carries huge importance for how the roster will come together. Some players are going to win and lose jobs tonight. Saints 28, Ravens 24

SCOTT RABALAIS: Don’t say the final preseason game is a yawner. For Saints at a number of positions, this will be their last battlefield. Luke McCown vs. Ryan Griffin at backup quarterback. Nick Toon vs. Robert Meachem and Joe Morgan. Kickers Shayne Graham and Derek Dimke. As for the game, the Saints’ game has proven to be deep in the preseason, even with the reserves.
