Storm Chasers 9, Zephyrs 2

Papillion, Nebraska — Pedro Ciriaco had three hits including a three-run home run and drove in five runs as the Omaha Storm Chasers defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs on Sunday. The win snapped a four game win streak for the Zephyrs and Omaha salvaged a game in the four-game series.

John Lamb (5-8) silenced the Zephyrs bats working six shutout innings and allowed two hits to earn the win.

Justin Maxwell got his first of four hits in the second inning, a two-out single and scored on a Brian Bocock RBI double to take a 1-0 lead.

The Omaha offense put four runs one the board in the fourth inning to storm ahead 5-0. Ciriaco’s three-run blast capped the inning.

Adam Conley (3-5) took the loss working 4.2 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits.

The Z’s have won nine of 12 against Omaha this season. New Orleans falls to a game back of first place Nashville.
