Oklahoma City — A trio of Oklahoma City pitchers shut out the New Orleans Zephyrs 5-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Zephyrs did not manage their first hit until the ninth inning, when Austin Nola drilled a single into left field.
Young 19-year old Dodgers prospect Julio Urias worked six innings facing the minimum. The only base runner he allowed was Dan Black, who reached on an error. Urias struck-out six batters, throwing 77 pitches.
Jack Murphy hit a solo home run in the third, and the Dodgers added a run in the inning off of starter Paul Clemens. Oklahoma City tacked on two more runs in the, fourth and Clemens exited allowing four runs in four innings.
Lisalverto Bonilla entered in relief of Urias and walked a pair of batters but kept the no-hit bid intact until he gave up Nola’s hit in the ninth.
Chin-hui Tsao replaced him to retire the final two batters. The Zephyrs were limited to one hit for the first time since July 6 against the Iowa Cubs.
The Zephyrs (13-12) snapped a four game win streak.
