ALBUQUERQUE — Don Kelly’s ninth-inning single to center scored Destin Hood to give the New Orleans Zephyrs a 5-4 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Thursday to snap the Zephyrs’ seven-game losing streak.

Hood led the inning off with drive to right field, and it appeared Jordan Patterson caught the ball. But it was jarred loose as he slammed into the wall. Hood reached third base on the error and scored on the Kelly single.

The Zephyrs led 4-3 in the eighth inning when Ben Paulsen drilled a leadoff home run off Andre Rienzo. The Zephyrs squandered the lead with their league-leading ninth blown save.

Kelly led the Zephyrs (16-23) with a pair of hits and two RBIs, while former Isotope Robert Andino added two hits.

Zephyrs starter Jarred Cosar allowed three runs on six hits in five innings. Rienzo earned the win in relief, and Nick Wittgren pitched the ninth inning to earn his second save.

The Z’s will add former Southern pitcher Cody Hall to the roster on Friday. He was claimed on waivers by the Miami Marlins on Wednesday after playing for the San Francisco Giants last season.
